Hallelujia!!!! FINALLY - we have a baby!

Yesterday morning, when I went in for my appointment, my OB gave me the option to induce. He said that since I was close to my due date, my body seemed ready, and I had given birth vaginally twice before that perhaps some low-dose Pitocin was not an unreasonable risk. I thought about it for about, oh, 2 full seconds before I agreed! We went to the hospital, got all hooked up, and once a good labor pattern was established with the Potocin, they were able to turn it off! Apparently my body was ready and just needed a little kick start! After about 7 hours of labor ...........(drum roll please!)

Jacob Dunlap G. was born!!!
He weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz.
He was 22 inches long.
He was born at 8:24 p.m.

I couldn't believe how big he was - my biggest baby by 13 oz.! (Matt was the previous record holder at 8 lbs. 2 oz.).

Pictures to follow soon......

It's a good thing they induced. He was huge! Congratulations! I have to say I was hoping for a girl, but boys are tons of fun. Can't wait to see pictures.

Congratulations! I can't wait to see him.
I was also induced with Milo, but had to keep the Pitocin, and did it all naturally AND he was 9lb 7oz. I was kind of ticked, but relieved that I'd been induced (can you imagine how big he would have been had I waited?) Anyway, I'm glad Baby Jake is nice and juicy. I'm sure he's adorable. Does he look like any of his brothers?

Hello Super mom, I can't believe you have already blogged twice! You are amazing and a mom to 5 boys, that is my hubby's dream...a boys basketball team! Congratulations! I hope you are getting some rest and having time to bond with Jake (my hubby also wants to name a boy Jake but I think Jake Jacobs is just a cruel joke!). I can't wait to see pictures.

I'm glad everything worked out so well. Tyler's middle name is Jacob and lately he's been wanting to go by "Jake". Mostly, though, he is still TyeTye. Congratulations! DArla
